RIZUMIK stands for artistic expression as the closest form of connection to the source. He is an artist (teacher, performer, dancer, actor, entertainer, vocalist, photographer, designer, poet…), born in Lisbon, that has also lived in Barcelona, Macau and New York. He is mostly known for his rhythmical and improvisational skills, through beatbox, percussion, vocal improvisation and circle singing, and also using tap dance, body percussion, drum kits, and overtone / harmonic singing.

Rizumik is part of the faculty of the CIRCLESONGS course, at Omega Institute, teaching and collaborating alongside 10 time Grammy-Award winner Bobby McFerrin. He`s been focusing on facilitating his own techniques, methods and dynamics within his work of improvisation, circle singing facilitation and `playshops` - experiential guided journeys that involve dancing, singing, meditation and human connection. He delivers his improvisation and sonic work within several communities and areas, including Vocal improvisation, Ecstatic Dance, 5 Rhythms, Yoga, Sound Meditation and Burning Man, among others.

Rizumik`s highlights include having worked for CIRQUE DU SOLEIL™ in two shows aboard MSC Meraviglia - SONOR and VIAGGIO; Being the lead actor [Scratcher] in the internationally acclaimed show THE VOCA PEOPLE™, having performed on Off-Broadway (West Side Theatre and New World Stages) and around the world, for many years, while on tour with the international cast. The production won the 2012 LUCILE LORTEL AWARD for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience, and it was featured in many shows like Live With Kelly, The Wendy Williams Show, MDA Telethon and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon; Being the lead actor in an online campaign for Grand Marnier.

RIZUMIK has collaborated with an eclectic range of talented artists like Joey Blake, Christiane Karam, Sasha Masakowski, Ana Bacalhau, Sofia Ribeiro, Tasha Blank, Pedro Carneiro, Hugo Oliveira, Rita Spider, Rui Júnior (WOK), Oreka TX, Daniel da Lança, Samantha de Siena, Ortal Pelleg and Iban Nikolai among many others.

- BEST VOCAL PERCUSSION at the prestigious 2017 Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella competition, in NY.
- 2012 AMERICAN BEATBOX CHAMPION
- Represented Portugal in 2009, 2012 and 2015, at the BEATBOX BATTLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, in Berlin.
